Guillaume Clusel has run the family estate, which took the name Clusel-Roch in 1989 under his parents Gilbert Clusel and Brigitte Roch, since 2009. La Viallière sits mid-slope on schist and mica-schist and gives a structured wine with dark fruit, smoked meat and violet over firm tannins. Serve with roast lamb, venison or a peppercorn steak; it will develop further with time in bottle.
