Saint-Romain's clay-limestone soils and cooler, higher-altitude vineyards give reds with bright red-cherry fruit and light tannins, at 12.5% alcohol in the 2022 vintage. The appellation has no premiers crus; this is a village wine. Serve slightly cool with roast poultry, charcuterie, or a mushroom-based dish.
