Since 2014 the cellar has been a 170-metre dressed-stone tunnel at the lieu-dit Barras, cut for the former steam line between Valence and Vernoux-en-Vivarais, which holds a steady temperature and humidity. The fruit comes from old vines on the granite hillsides of Cornas, worked by hand. The 2020 shows dark berry fruit, black pepper and a savoury, meaty edge, with firm tannins balanced by the natural acidity of the appellation. Robert prefers used barrels, which keeps oak in the background.
