Islay Barley is a vintage-dated single malt from Bruichladdich, the distillery on the Rhinns of Islay first established in 1881 and revived in its current form in 2001. Distilled entirely from barley grown on Islay farms within an 11-mile radius of the distillery, this 2007 vintage, bottled at 50% ABV, is a fully traceable, terroir-focused expression of the island's grain rather than its peat. Unlike its smoky Islay neighbours, Bruichladdich distils unpeated whisky through the island's tallest stills, producing an elegant, floral, and grain-forward character. Expect notes of malted barley, orchard fruit, and a clean, saline finish typical of coastal maturation. Serve neat or with a splash of water. A distinctive, single-origin Islay malt for whisky enthusiasts.
