Vintage2020
Les Charmes is one of the most distinctive lieux-dits within Morgon, a cru of Beaujolais known for producing some of the region's most structured, age-worthy Gamay. At close to 500 metres, Les Charmes sits among the highest-elevation parcels in Morgon, giving cooler nights that preserve freshness and aromatic lift in the finished wine. This bottling, labelled Croix des Charmes, is made from 100% Gamay and shows, in the 2020 vintage, dark cherry and blackberry fruit, a touch of earthy minerality from the granite soils typical of Morgon, and firmer tannins than a standard Beaujolais. Morgon crus are known to benefit from a year or two of bottle age. Pair with roast chicken, charcuterie or grilled sausages.
