Gilbert & Christine Felettig
Domaine Felettig is based in Chambolle-Musigny, in the Côte de Nuits. Henri Felettig built the estate from parcels he was given and others he bought. His children Gilbert and Christine, brother and sister, joined him in 1993 and run it today, Gilbert on the vines and in the cellar and Christine on the commercial side; Gilbert's daughter Pauline has since joined them. The domaine works around 12.5 hectares divided among more than a hundred parcels, most of them in Chambolle-Musigny.
In Chambolle the estate bottles a village Vieilles Vignes, the monopole Clos du Village, a blend of four climats and a broad spread of premiers crus: Les Fuées and Les Combottes at the northern end of the commune, towards Morey-Saint-Denis; Les Charmes and Les Gruenchers on the mid-slope; and Les Lavrottes, Aux Échanges and Les Carrières. Beyond Chambolle it holds the Morey-Saint-Denis premier cru Les Charrières, Vosne-Romanée, Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Beaune premier cru Champs Pimonts and the Corton grand cru Les Grandes Lolières, a climat on the Ladoix-Serrigny side of the Corton hill, with Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits and Coteaux Bourguignons at the base of the range.
The vines are worked without herbicides or insecticides and average forty to fifty years old; the estate entered organic conversion in 2021 and publishes no organic or biodynamic certificate. Fruit is sorted in the vineyard and again in the cellar, cold-macerated at around ten degrees for five to seven days and fermented over some three weeks; since 2016 a proportion of stems has been kept on certain cuvées. New oak runs to about thirty per cent on the village wines and from half upwards on the premiers and grand crus, and the wines are bottled unfined and unfiltered. Les Fuées, next to Bonnes-Mares, gives a riper and broader wine; Les Combottes is firmer, close to the Morey-Saint-Denis boundary. Arcana Cabinet lists fifteen wines from the domaine: the Chambolle-Musigny premiers crus Les Fuées, Les Combottes, Les Charmes, Les Gruenchers, Les Lavrottes and Aux Échanges, together with the 4 Climats blend; village Chambolle-Musigny Vieilles Vignes; the Morey-Saint-Denis premier cru Les Charrières; Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes; the Beaune premier cru Champs Pimonts; the Corton grand cru Les Grandes Lolières; Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits; and Coteaux Bourguignons. The range also includes the Chambolle premier cru Les Carrières and the Clos du Village monopole.
