Custom Shipping Options
Wine is a living product and the journey matters as much as the cellar it came from. This page sets out how your parcel can be insured, what we do when the weather turns against us, and the temperature-controlled services we can arrange for bottles that deserve them.
Insurance — optional, and free from €1,200
Transport cover is an optional line you can add when you review your basket: Transport insurance, €12. On orders of €1,200 and above it is offered — the charge is removed automatically, with no code to enter.
The cover includes:
- Theft of the parcel in transit.
- Breakage of bottles in transit.
- Loss of the parcel by the carrier.
The cover does not include:
- Wine damaged by exposure to heat or cold during transport.
- Corks pushed out or displaced by temperature variation, and any leakage that follows.
No transport insurer covers thermal damage, because no carrier can guarantee the temperature of a standard parcel. That is precisely why we watch the weather rather than simply dispatching and hoping. Full details on the Shipping Insurance page.
When the weather does not allow safe transport
In high summer and in deep winter, a parcel can sit for hours in a van or a depot at temperatures that will mark a wine permanently. When the forecast along your route does not allow us to ship safely, we contact you after your order and before anything leaves the cellar, and you choose:
- We hold your bottles and dispatch them as soon as temperatures allow. There is no charge for waiting, and your order and its prices stand.
- We ship immediately and you sign a short disclaimer accepting the temperature risk. The wine travels at your responsibility, and thermal damage cannot then be claimed.
Most customers in July or February choose to wait a week or two. We will always tell you what we would do ourselves.
Thermal shield and dry ice express
For fine and fragile bottles that cannot wait, we can pack your order in an insulated case with a thermal shield and dry ice and send it by express carrier, so the wine spends the shortest possible time in ambient conditions.
Temperature-controlled delivery
To a number of destinations we can arrange fully temperature-controlled transport, where the wine stays within a set range from our cellar to your door. Availability depends on the country and on the volume being shipped.
Asking for a quotation
Both services are priced case by case — they depend on the destination, the season, the number of bottles and the value of the wine, and we would rather quote you honestly than publish a rate that fits nobody. Speak to your concierge:

You are also welcome to collect your bottles in person in Beaune (21200), France, which removes the transport question entirely.
