Coudurier-Jung

Coudurier-Jung is a small operation, and an unusual one for Burgundy: an urban micro-winery in the middle of Beaune, at 19 rue du Faubourg Bretonnière. Christine Coudurier, née Jung, is the sole registered manager of the company, Vins Coudurier Jung, incorporated in May 2018; she works alongside her husband David. She had registered a vine-growing business in her own name in 2011, and the wines were first presented in Beaune in 2016. She describes herself as propriétaire-récoltante, vinificatrice and négociante: two parcels are held, one in Bourgogne and one in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, their cultivation entrusted to a contractor, while the other appellations are bought in as fruit and vinified on the premises. The work is done in very small volumes, a cuvée at a time.

The declared range is wide for so small a producer: Beaune and Pommard in red, Meursault and Saint-Romain in white, Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits and Hautes-Côtes de Beaune in both colours, Bourgogne Aligoté, a Bourgogne rosé and the Crémant de Bourgogne Les Bulles Diamants in white and rosé. The Hautes-Côtes de Beaune blanc Notre Marie 2023 was among the winners of the Prix d'Excellence des Hautes-Côtes, judged in Beaune on 24 April 2026.

Of the method, what is on record comes largely from the house itself: the wines are vinified on site, moved by gravity rather than pump, and bottled unfiltered and with low sulphur. Vinification in Beaune is confirmed by the local press; the rest rests on the producer's own account. No vineyard area and no farming certification have been published, and rather than fill those gaps this note stops. Arcana Cabinet lists five wines: the Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits in white and, as the cuvée Les Valançons, in red, the higher and cooler ground above the Côte de Nuits villages, where Pinot Noir ripens late and holds its acidity; a Bourgogne rouge and blanc under the name Les Rêves de Gabriel; and a Saint-Romain blanc.
