This Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits Blanc comes from Coudurier-Jung, an urban micro-winery on the Faubourg Bretonnière, a few minutes' walk from the centre of Beaune. Christine Coudurier holds two parcels whose cultivation is contracted out and buys in fruit for the other appellations, vinifying everything on site in small cuvées. It is Chardonnay from the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, the higher ground above the Côte de Nuits villages, where the cooler climate gives fresher, more citrus-driven whites. Expect green apple, lemon and a light floral note, with brisk acidity and a clean finish. Pair with goat cheese, shellfish or a light seafood salad.
