Vintage2023
This Bourgogne Hautes-Côtes de Nuits from the La Poirelotte vineyard is Pinot Noir from Domaine Laurent Roumier, the Chambolle-Musigny estate founded in 1991 by Laurent Roumier, a grandson of Georges Roumier. Domaine Laurent Roumier is a separate producer from Domaine Georges Roumier, which his cousin Christophe Roumier runs. The Hautes-Côtes lie higher and cooler than the Côte de Nuits slope itself, which gives brighter acidity and lighter body. The fruit is entirely destemmed and fermented in concrete, then raised in barrel with a tenth new oak. The 2023 shows fresh red cherry and redcurrant with soft tannin, at 12.5% alcohol. It suits charcuterie, roast chicken or a simple bistro meal.
