Vintage2021
Meursault 1er Cru Genevrières is one of three Meursault premiers crus farmed by Domaine Ballot-Millot, and includes a parcel of vines around seventy years old. Charles Ballot has run the estate since 2000, with family vines in the village since 1630. This 100% Chardonnay is barrel-fermented and left on its full lees without bâtonnage, with around a quarter new oak. It shows white flowers, ripe citrus and a creamy texture balanced by bright acidity and a long, mineral finish. Pair with roast veal, lobster or a mushroom and cream dish. The 2021 vintage was cool, and the wine has lift and freshness.
