Scottish Barley is the entry-level, non-vintage expression from Bruichladdich, the distillery on the Rhinns of Islay founded in 1881 and revived in 2001, now owned by Rémy Cointreau. Made from barley sourced across mainland Scotland rather than Islay exclusively, this bottling is distilled without peat, unlike most of its Islay neighbours, through the distillery's notably tall stills, producing a lighter, more floral style. Bottled at 50% ABV, it offers malted cereal, honey, and soft citrus notes with a smooth, elegant finish. As a non-vintage release, it provides a consistent introduction to Bruichladdich's unpeated house style. Serve neat, with a drop of water, or in a whisky highball. An accessible, versatile Islay single malt.
