Vintage2016
Château Fombrauge is a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé estate owned by Bernard Magrez since 1999, with a history of winemaking on the site dating back to its first recorded harvest in 1599 and covering 58 hectares of vines averaging 37 years old on clay-limestone soils. This 2016 red is a Right Bank Bordeaux blend built around Merlot and complemented by Cabernet Franc, reflecting Saint-Émilion's classic style of plush, fruit-forward wines with real structure. The 2016 vintage in Bordeaux combined ripeness with fresh acidity and firm tannins suited to aging. Expect black plum, cherry, and mocha notes with a smooth, generous palate and a long, polished finish. Pair with roast lamb, beef, or a mature cheese board. Fombrauge is the largest estate among Bernard Magrez's Grands Crus Classés.
