Nuits-Saint-Georges

Nuits-Saint-Georges closes the Côte de Nuits to the south and produces firm, earthy Pinot Noir built on structure rather than perfume. The commune has no Grand Cru but a long list of Premiers Crus, split between the sturdier southern climats towards Prémeaux and the more delicate northern ones bordering Vosne-Romanée.

Producers represented include Robert Chevillon and Jean-Jacques Confuron. These are wines that usually need time — five to eight years for village bottlings, longer for the Premiers Crus.
