Vintage2016
Blason d'Issan is the second wine of Château d'Issan, a Margaux estate classified Third Growth (Troisième Cru Classé) in the 1855 Bordeaux classification, with a history tracing back to the twelfth century and under the Cruse family since 1945. Created in 1995 from the estate's younger vines, Blason d'Issan is a blend of roughly 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot, aged 14 to 16 months in barrel. It offers a more approachable, rounder style than the grand vin, with red and black currant fruit, soft tannins and a touch of cedar, at 13% alcohol in the 2016 vintage. Serve with roast lamb, entrecôte, or aged hard cheeses.
