Spice Tree is a blended malt Scotch whisky from Compass Box, the London-based blending house founded by John Glaser in 2000 that built its reputation on innovative cask techniques and full transparency about its whisky sources. This expression combines single malts matured with additional new French oak staves inserted into the casks, intensifying the wood's influence and delivering a notably spicy, richly flavored whisky with notes of clove, cinnamon, ginger and vanilla layered over honeyed malt. Bottled at 46% ABV, it has more concentration and weight than Compass Box's lighter blends, making it well suited to sipping neat or with a single ice cube. Spice Tree is one of the whiskies that established Compass Box's reputation for pushing beyond conventional Scotch blending techniques, and remains a benchmark for oak-driven, spice-forward blended malt whisky.
