Vintage2017
Volnay is one of the Côte de Beaune's most elegant red wine villages, and Domaine Lucien Boillot et Fils's 2017 vintage is a Pinot Noir bottled at 13% alcohol. The Boillot family has made wine in Volnay since 1850, with the domaine today spanning parcels in both the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits around Gevrey-Chambertin, farmed with a restrained, traditional approach that prioritises precise expression of terroir over heavy extraction or new oak. Expect the silky texture, red cherry and floral perfume characteristic of Volnay Pinot Noir, with the 2017 vintage offering approachable, fruit-forward wines with moderate structure for mid-term drinking. Pair with roast duck, mushroom risotto or a soft, washed-rind cheese to match its elegance.
