Vintage
Romanée-Saint-Vivant is a Grand Cru of Vosne-Romanée, and Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat farms about half a hectare of it. The domaine also farms a parcel of Richebourg. It was established in 1962 by Alain Hudelot and gained its Vosne-Romanée holdings through his marriage to Odile Noëllat, granddaughter of the Vosne grower Charles Noëllat; it is now run from Chambolle-Musigny by their grandson Charles van Canneyt. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, fermented with indigenous yeasts and aged about eighteen months in barrel with a higher proportion of new oak at Grand Cru level, up to 50%. The 2022 vintage was warm across Burgundy. Expect dark cherry, spice and silky tannins.
