Vintage2015
Château Lespault-Martillac is a 10-hectare estate in Pessac-Léognan, in the Graves district of Bordeaux, managed since 2009 by Olivier Bernard of Domaine de Chevalier under a long-term lease, using the same winemaking team and philosophy applied at that neighboring estate. The red wine is a blend dominated by Merlot (around 60%) with Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot, grown on gravel-and-clay soils. The 2015 vintage was ripe and well-balanced in Bordeaux, giving this wine dark fruit, cedar and gravelly minerality with firm, polished tannins at 13.5% alcohol. Now with a decade of bottle age, it pairs with roast lamb, beef, or aged hard cheeses.
