Vintage2016
La Chapelle de la Mission Haut-Brion, 2016 vintage, is the second wine of Château La Mission Haut-Brion, one of the classified estates of Pessac-Léognan on Bordeaux's Left Bank, in the Graves region. First produced in 1991 and named after a chapel built in 1698 on the estate, La Chapelle is a Bordeaux blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot with a substantial portion of Cabernet Franc, grown on the same gravelly, clay-limestone soils as the grand vin. Since the 2006 vintage, fruit previously destined for La Tour Haut-Brion has been folded into this cuvée. The 2016 vintage gives this wine ripe dark fruit, tobacco, and a touch of smoke, with structured yet polished tannins. Pair with roast lamb, beef, or a mature cheese course.
