This Bourgogne Aligoté, Les Jardins de la Côte, is made by Joseph Colin, son of Marc Colin, who launched his own domaine in Saint-Aubin in 2017 after years working alongside his father in the Côte de Beaune. Made from the Aligoté grape rather than Chardonnay, this regional appellation wine reflects Joseph Colin's minimal-intervention approach, using larger barrels and avoiding excess sulfur or lees stirring to let the fruit express itself. The 2022 vintage in Burgundy was warm and ripe, giving Aligoté with riper citrus character than usual alongside its characteristic bright acidity. Expect lemon, green apple and a saline, chalky edge. This is a versatile, refreshing white well suited to oysters, a classic kir, or as an aperitif. An honest, terroir-driven Aligoté from a rising Côte de Beaune talent.
