Vintage2020
Aux Malconsorts is a premier cru vineyard at the southern end of Vosne-Romanée, adjoining La Tâche, where Domaine de Montille bought its holding in 2005 jointly with Domaine Dujac. The 2020, at 13% alcohol, shows the depth of fruit typical of Vosne-Romanée alongside the silky texture of the site, with black cherry, violet and warm spice and firm but polished tannins. The estate is based in Volnay, where Hubert de Montille took charge in 1947 and rebuilt a family holding that had fallen to about 2.5 hectares by the end of the Second World War; his son Etienne runs it today. The domaine works around 35 hectares across the Côte de Beaune and the Côte de Nuits, farmed organically since 1995 and biodynamically since 2005, certified by Ecocert. Decant before serving and pair with roast venison, beef or a mature Époisses.
