Vintage2007
Château La Salle de Poujeaux is the second wine of Château Poujeaux, an estate in the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation on Bordeaux's Left Bank, classified Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel in the 2003 classification. The main château's 68-hectare vineyard is planted predominantly to Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, with smaller amounts of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, and this second-label bottling follows the same blend philosophy in a lighter, earlier-drinking style. The 2007 vintage, a lighter year in Bordeaux, has now had close to two decades to develop, and at 13% alcohol it shows mature cedar, dried fruit and softened tannins typical of an aged Médoc red. Pair with roast lamb, grilled steak or hard cheeses.
