Échezeaux is one of the largest grand cru vineyards in Burgundy, and this bottling comes from just under a hectare held by Domaine Jean-Marc Millot. The parcels reached the domaine through Jean-Marc's wife Christine, whose family, the Gouroux of Flagey-Échezeaux, took them back from tenant farmers after the couple married. The domaine was founded in 1992, has been based in Nuits-Saint-Georges since 2003, and the wines have been made by Jean-Marc's daughter Alix since 2016. Expect dark cherry and plum, silky tannin, and the spice and earth of Échezeaux. Decant before serving with roast venison, duck breast or an aged Burgundian cheese.
