Vintage2016
Alión is the more modern-styled sister winery of Vega Sicilia, established in 1991 by the Álvarez family in Ribera del Duero to produce Tempranillo, known locally as Tinto Fino, aged in new French oak barrels. This 2016 vintage is presented here in a large-format 300cl bottle, a size that favours slow, harmonious ageing. Expect a full-bodied, polished red with dark plum, blackberry and cassis fruit, notes of vanilla and toasted oak from barrel ageing, and firm, ripe tannin with real structure. It pairs well with roast lamb, aged beef or a hard sheep's-milk cheese.
