Chambolle-Musigny
Chambolle-Musigny makes the most perfumed and finely textured Pinot Noir in the Côte de Nuits. Its limestone-rich, low-clay soils give wines of red fruit, rose and spice with silky tannins, in contrast to the power of Gevrey to the north and Vosne to the south.
The commune holds two Grands Crus, Musigny and Bonnes-Mares, and the celebrated Premier Cru Les Amoureuses. Domaines represented here include Amiot-Servelle, Bruno Clair and Felettig. Village Chambolle drinks well from four to five years; the top climats reward far longer.
