Vintage2017
Chambertin Clos de Bèze Grand Cru 2017 from Domaine Pierre Damoy is Pinot Noir from one of Gevrey-Chambertin's nine grand crus, and the Damoy family, established here in the 1920s by Julien Damoy, is the single largest landholder in this vineyard with roughly 5.4 hectares. Pierre Damoy, the fifth generation to lead the estate, took over in 1992 and sharply raised quality standards in both vineyard and cellar. Expect a powerful, structured wine with dark cherry, black fruit, spice and the firm tannic backbone typical of Clos de Bèze. The 2017 vintage is approachable young and will continue to develop for years. Serve with roast beef, game or mature hard cheeses.
