Coteaux Champenois is the appellation for the still wines of the Champagne region, and this red comes from Egly-Ouriet's home village of Ambonnay in the Montagne de Reims. It is made from Pinot Noir, fermented on native yeasts. The 2022 is a lighter-bodied red with red cherry, redcurrant and earthy, chalky notes that reflect Ambonnay's limestone soils. It goes with roast chicken, charcuterie or a mushroom dish. The house has been run by Francis Egly since 1982.
