Château Mayne Lalande has produced wine in the Listrac-Médoc appellation on Bordeaux's Left Bank for roughly four decades, founded by Bernard Lartigue and today farming clay-limestone and gravel soils across 14 hectares in Listrac and 5 in neighboring Moulis. The wine is a classic Left Bank blend of roughly equal parts Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon, with small additions of Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, aged 12 to 16 months without filtration. Expect blackcurrant, plum and a touch of cedar, with firm tannins and a savory finish. Classified Cru Bourgeois Supérieur, this wine pairs well with roast lamb, grilled steak or hard cheese.
