Vintage2021
Domaine Tortochot has grown Pinot Noir in Gevrey-Chambertin across four generations, and this bottling comes from the domaine's parcel in Le Chambertin itself, the Grand Cru that gave the village its name, in the Côte de Nuits. The estate has been run since 1997 by Chantal Michel-Tortochot, who took over from her father Gabriel. The 2021 vintage in Burgundy was cooler and lower-yielding, generally producing fresh, precise wines rather than overtly powerful ones. Expect dark cherry, violet and earthy spice on a firm, mineral-driven palate with length. Pair with roast venison, braised beef or a well-aged hard cheese.
