Vintage2021
Charmes-Chambertin is a Grand Cru of Gevrey-Chambertin, in the Côte de Nuits. This bottling is produced by Domaine Tortochot, a four-generation family estate in the village, run since 1997 by Chantal Michel-Tortochot, who took over from her father Gabriel. Made entirely from Pinot Noir, it reflects the cooler 2021 vintage, which generally favoured freshness and precision over sheer weight across Burgundy. Expect red and black cherry fruit, floral and spice notes, and taut, fine-grained tannins, with the rounder, more generous character traditionally associated with Charmes-Chambertin. Best matched with braised short rib, roast game or mature cheese.
