Vintage2016
Macán is the flagship wine of Bodegas Benjamin de Rothschild & Vega Sicilia, a joint venture launched in 2004 between Tempos Vega Sicilia and the Compagnie Vinicole Baron Edmond de Rothschild, with the partnership's first vintage released in 2009. Made from 100% Tempranillo sourced from old vines on elevated, gravelly clay-limestone terraces in Rioja, this 2016 vintage is bottled at 14.5% abv and aged in barrel for around 15 months. Expect a modern, polished style with dark fruit, cedar and spice from careful oak ageing, firm but refined tannins, and real depth. Pair with roast lamb, aged Manchego or a well-marbled steak.
