Vintage2019
Les Marconnets is a premier cru vineyard at Beaune's northern extremity, on the boundary with Savigny-lès-Beaune, whose east-facing slopes give one of the firmer, more structured styles among Beaune's premiers crus. Bouchard Père & Fils, the Beaune négociant-grower with vineyards dating back to the eighteenth century, bottles this 2019 as 100% Pinot Noir, showing red berry fruit, floral aromatics and firm, fine-grained tannins. At 14% alcohol the wine carries the ripeness of the 2019 vintage while retaining Beaune's savoury edge. It suits roast chicken, charcuterie or mushroom risotto.
