Domaine Bruno Clair's Bonnes-Mares Grand Cru comes from a climat straddling Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis in the Côte de Nuits. Bruno Clair founded the domaine in 1979 at Marsannay-la-Côte and now farms some 27 hectares across eight villages and 32 appellations; the Bonnes-Mares vines came to the family through his grandfather Joseph Clair and were rented until the family bought them outright in 2006. Expect deep ruby colour, aromas of black cherry, violet and baking spice, and silky tannins over a firm mineral core. It is built for a decade or more in the cellar, and pairs with roast pigeon, venison or a mature Époisses. Select your preferred vintage above.
