Vintage
Domaine Clusel-Roch took its name in 1989, when Gilbert Clusel and Brigitte Roch took on the family's Côte-Rôtie vines; their son Guillaume has run the Ampuis estate since 2009. Le Champon is one of the domaine's single-parcel Côte-Rôties, on the schist and mica-schist of the appellation's northern sector around Verenay. Expect dark fruit, violet and peppery spice framed by firm tannins. Serve with roast duck, braised short rib or aged hard cheeses; the wine will develop further over the medium term.
