Vintage
This Côte-Rôtie La Viallière from Domaine Clusel-Roch is a Syrah red from a climat on the steep, terraced slopes at the northern end of the appellation, near Ampuis. Guillaume Clusel has run the family estate, which took the name Clusel-Roch in 1989 under his parents Gilbert Clusel and Brigitte Roch, since 2009. La Viallière sits mid-slope on schist and mica-schist and gives a structured wine with dark fruit, smoked meat and violet over firm tannins. Serve with roast lamb, venison or a peppercorn steak; it will develop further with time in bottle. Select your preferred vintage above.
