Les Schistes is Domaine Clusel-Roch's blended Côte-Rôtie, drawn from the estate's schist and mica-schist terraces at Verenay, at the northern end of the appellation. The family has worked these slopes since Baptiste and Marguerite Clusel planted Les Grandes Places in 1935, and Guillaume Clusel has run the domaine since 2009. Expect the appellation's dark berry fruit, violet and black pepper. This bottling is presented here in a 150 cl magnum. Serve with roast lamb, venison or a mature cheese course.
