Aux Boudots is the northernmost premier cru climat of Nuits-Saint-Georges, pressed against the Vosne-Romanée boundary, and Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron holds a small plot there, close to its base at Prémeaux-Prissey. Its position next to Vosne shows in the perfume: red and dark cherry, violet, and a silky but structured palate, shaped by a long pre-fermentation cold soak and around half to sixty per cent new oak. Pair with roast duck, game birds or a mushroom risotto, and allow a few years in the cellar.
