Vintage2020
La Levrière is a Pommard parcel bottled by Domaine Dugat-Py, an estate whose Dugat family has grown vines in neighboring Gevrey-Chambertin since the early 17th century, with the modern domaine's foundations laid in 1923. Run today by Bernard and Loïc Dugat-Py, the family holds small parcels of Chambertin Grand Cru and premier crus in Gevrey, and this Pommard bottling applies the same low-yield, old-vine approach in the Côte de Beaune. Labeled Très Vieilles Vignes, the 2020 vintage draws on particularly old vines to give a Pommard with dark cherry and plum fruit, earthy, savory undertones and the firm, structured tannins the appellation is traditionally known for. It suits braised beef, game or a mature hard cheese, and benefits from a few years of additional bottle age.
