Vintage2019
Les Vignots is a village-level lieu-dit in Pommard, on the Beaune side of the commune at about 330 metres, facing south on white marl, where Domaine Chantal Lescure farms about one hectare. The domaine was founded in 1975, is based at Nuits-Saint-Georges and works about 19 hectares from Meursault to Vougeot; it has been certified organic (Agriculture Biologique) since September 2009. It was bought in January 2023 by Jean-Philippe Girard and Éric Rousseau, and Fabrice Groussin now makes the wines, after François Chavériat, who directed the vineyards and the cellar from 1996 until his retirement. This 2019 is entirely Pinot Noir, with dark cherry and plum fruit alongside the firm, earthy tannins typical of Pommard. At 14.5% alcohol it is ripe and deep for a village wine. Pair it with roast lamb, mushroom dishes or a rustic terrine, and expect it to benefit from a few years of cellaring to soften and integrate further.
