Domaine Harmand-Geoffroy is a family estate in Gevrey-Chambertin with roots dating to the late 19th century, farmed today by the father-son team of Gérard and Philippe Harmand across nine hectares of limestone-clay soils in the Côte de Nuits. This 2020 village Gevrey-Chambertin, made entirely from Pinot Noir, reflects the estate's traditional approach of native-yeast fermentation in open-top wooden vats and hierarchical oak ageing. Expect a robust, savoury red with dark cherry and blackberry fruit, earthy and spice notes, and the firm, structured tannin typical of Gevrey-Chambertin. It pairs well with beef bourguignon, roast lamb or a hard cow's-milk cheese. A traditionally made village wine from a domaine that also produces a Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru.
