En Songe is a named village lieu-dit in Gevrey-Chambertin farmed by Domaine Marchand-Grillot, the family estate whose name comes from the 1950 marriage joining two Côte de Nuits growing families, the Marchands and the Grillots. Jacques Marchand heads the domaine, Étienne Marchand has made the wines since 2009 and Marion Marchand joined in 2015 to run the commercial side. The wine is Pinot Noir from a single named parcel, grown without synthetic herbicides or pesticides for more than twenty-five years. Expect black cherry and plum with underbrush and liquorice, framed by firm tannins. Serve with roast beef, wild mushroom dishes or aged Comté. Select your preferred vintage above.
