Vintage2022
Au Velle is a village lieu-dit in Gevrey-Chambertin farmed by Domaine Marchand-Grillot, the Côte de Nuits estate formed by the 1950 marriage of the Marchand and Grillot families, growers here across seven generations. Jacques Marchand heads the domaine, with his son Étienne making the wines since 2009 and his daughter Marion on the commercial side since 2015. The wine is Pinot Noir from a single named parcel rather than a blend across the village, grown without synthetic herbicides or pesticides for more than twenty-five years. Expect black cherry, earthy undertones and a sturdy tannic frame. It suits braised meats, game or beef bourguignon. Select your preferred vintage above.
