Vintage
This Vieilles Vignes bottling is the old-vine Pinot Noir side of Chassagne-Montrachet, a village known above all for Chardonnay but with a long red-wine history of its own. The fruit comes from vines planted in the early 1960s. Alex Moreau took sole charge of the domaine in 2020, and from the 2021 vintage Domaine Bernard Moreau et Fils became Domaine Alex Moreau, earlier vintages keeping the Bernard Moreau label; the family has grown vines in the village since 1809. Fermentation runs on native yeasts and the wine is bottled without racking, fining or filtration, giving red cherry and a savoury, earthy edge over fine tannin. Serve with roast duck, coq au vin or a mushroom-based main course. Select your preferred vintage above.
