Vintage2020
Domaine Pierre Morey's Pommard 1er Cru Grands Épenots, 2020 vintage, is a Pinot Noir red Burgundy from a premier cru vineyard in Pommard, a Côte de Beaune village known for its firm, structured reds. Pierre Morey, a Meursault-based winemaker best known for his white Burgundies and his years as régisseur at Domaine Leflaive, has in recent years given more attention to the domaine's Pinot Noir holdings in Pommard and Volnay, now overseen with his daughter Anne. Grands Épenots shows dark cherry and blackcurrant fruit, earthy spice, and the robust, age-worthy tannins typical of Pommard. Pair with roast beef, venison, or a hearty beef bourguignon. A structured red Burgundy best enjoyed with a few years of cellaring.
