Vintage2022
Aux Beaux Bruns is a premier cru climat of Chambolle-Musigny, the Côte de Nuits village whose limestone-rich, low-clay soils give perfumed, finely textured Pinot Noir. Denis Mortet set up under his own name with four and a half hectares inherited from his father Charles, and extended the estate across Gevrey-Chambertin, Chambolle-Musigny, Vougeot, Fixin and Marsannay before his death in 2006; his son Arnaud then took over and moved the style towards infusion. The 2022 shows the floral, red-fruited character of Chambolle, with fine, silky tannins and a long, perfumed finish, lighter in build than the domaine's Gevrey-Chambertin wines. It suits roast duck, guinea fowl or mushroom-based dishes.
