Vintage2020
Domaine William Fèvre, founded in 1957 by William Fèvre, is the largest holder of Grand Cru vineyards in Chablis, farming around 70 hectares across the appellation under the current winemaking direction of Didier Séguier, who favours seasoned oak barrels over new wood to let the terroir speak. Bougros is the westernmost of Chablis's seven Grand Cru climats, south-west facing on classic Kimmeridgian marl above the Serein river, and is considered among the most generous and full-bodied of the Grand Crus; the domaine owns just over six hectares here, including the steep Côte Bouguerots parcel. Made entirely from Chardonnay, the 2020 vintage was warm and early-ripening, generally giving Chablis wines of real concentration alongside characteristic freshness. Expect citrus, white flowers and a flinty, saline minerality. Pair with oysters, lobster, or a rich seafood gratin.
