Meursault
Meursault is the largest of the great white-wine villages of the Côte de Beaune. Its Chardonnay is typically broader and richer than neighbouring Puligny-Montrachet — hazelnut, butter and stone fruit over a saline finish — shaped by barrel fermentation and around ten to twelve months in oak.
Meursault has no Grand Cru, but its leading Premiers Crus (Perrières, Charmes, Genevrières) sit at Grand Cru quality. This collection lists village and named-lieu-dit bottlings from producers including Ballot-Millot, Pernot-Belicard and Domaine Lafon, plus a small number of reds made in the village. Most bottlings drink well from five to fifteen years.
