Vintage2020
This village Meursault comes from Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux, established in 1990 after Jean-Michel worked alongside his father François Gaunoux, and now guided in the cellar by his son Henri, who joined the estate in 2012. The domaine farms six hectares across Meursault, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay, practicing green harvesting for low yields and working the soil without pesticides. It bottles its wines under two names, Jean-Michel Gaunoux and Jean-Michel Gaunoux-Hudelot, the latter adding the maiden name of Delphine Gaunoux, who co-manages the estate. Made from Chardonnay, the 2020 vintage shows the classic Meursault profile of orchard fruit, hazelnut and a touch of buttery richness balanced by mineral freshness, aged with a modest amount of new oak and neither fined nor filtered. Pair with roast chicken, creamy sauces or Comté cheese. A traditionally made, terroir-focused village Meursault.
