Vintage2018
This Pommard from the Les Perrières vineyard is produced by Domaine Jean-Michel Gaunoux, a family estate established in 1990 by Jean-Michel Gaunoux after years working alongside his father François, and now guided by his son Henri, who took on winemaking duties in 2012. The domaine farms Meursault, Pommard, Puligny-Montrachet and Volnay parcels with low-yield green harvesting and pesticide-free viticulture, using a modest amount of new oak and no fining or filtration in the cellar. It bottles its wines under two names, Jean-Michel Gaunoux and Jean-Michel Gaunoux-Hudelot, the latter adding the maiden name of Delphine Gaunoux, who co-manages the estate. Made from Pinot Noir, the 2018 vintage offers dark cherry, spice and Pommard's characteristic firm, structured tannins, softened by several years of bottle age. Serve with braised beef, game or a mature cheese course. A traditionally crafted Pommard from a Meursault-based family domaine.
